How to transition from a D chord to the Dsus4 chord.
The D → Dsus4 transition is the same I → Isus4 move in the key of D or any key where you're playing D shapes.
Chord shapes
Play the D chord in a D shape, and transition to Dsus4 played in a D shape. Place your fourth finger down in the next fret after your second finger to make the D chord into a sus4 chord.
